If you would like a feature on both this account (when I get a sub in the nearby future) and on my *Cait-Shoxxi-Stock account, create fan art of any kind of any character from Bright Pessimism. For reference, please note me.

Also I am looking for literature affiliates. So if you are interested, please also note me. I would prefer purely literature accounts, but if you have an account with visual art and would still like to become affiliates, literature still must be a large part of your deviations.

:skull::skull::skull:

BWA HA HAAA.

mmm, yeah.

So, I've been working on the forth chapter revision for what seems to have been, well, forever. The problem with it was the fact that I had to completely /rewrite/ the entire thing, and now that I look back at the original, nothing is the same about it other than the concept of what happens. So if you were one of those that read chapter three or four (I forgot, blah) on my main account when it was still there, it's actually a lot different at this point. I mean, the same crap happens, but I found myself thinking, "RUN, KRISSY. RUNNN."

Oh, by the way, as a little "spoiler," Krissy does finally break that palm tree plate. It makes me SMILE INSIDE.

So I think if you are among the group of people that already find the first three chapters exciting (personally I find them boring because they lack the presence of my Mistress Llewellyn Rochester), you will most likely <3 the forth one when I get it up. It will probably be a few days before then, however, since I wrote about 3,000 words in one sitting, and God knows how many typos I can make if I write that much at a time.

BTW, it seems obligatory that I must inform you of this: the forth chapter will have a mature content tag but only a "warning" type because of the cursing. So that's the reason why I will have one, in case you wonder about it. I guess it's not really important though, unless you're offended by that, in which case you should keep in mind to never think of reading my actual online blog or my other novel WIP (Doppelganger), but most of you could probably not care less about cursing. So frankly I'm not going to worry about it.

Yeah. I'm trying to think of something to say, but I can't think of anything else. I'll be getting a subscription soon, though, so I guess that's something to look forward to when I do the upcoming feature of ANYONE who does fan art of any of the characters from Bright Pessimism (of course, it has to /look/ like them...). The most favorite thing people like to draw so far is Kristopher and Llewellyn together, but any other pairings are quite nice to see. For a complete list of characters, you can contact MEEEEE via note. :D

And for God's sake, don't send notes to my art account *Cait-Shoxxi. They will never, EVER see the light of day.

Unofficial Summary for Bright Pessimism:

Fifteen-year old Kristopher Amherst is yet to discover pain. Five years after losing his father to cardiac arrest, his mother's life is taken before his eyes, and he and his two younger siblings must move to East Tennessee to live with his aunt and cousin. However, since he cannot be bothered by anyone else's problems, he runs away into the woods, despite the warnings of his cousin. Now Kristopher faces the challenge that makes him rethink his pain. Mistress Llewellyn Rochester, a sick and twisted woman enslaved on her own estate tucked away into the Smoky Mountains, has kidnapped him and now has him trapped inside her mansion to keep herself company. He only has so long to discover her secret agenda and the evil that lurks behind it, but little does he know he is the perfect play toy for Henry May, the dead nine-year old little boy that holds Mistress Llewellyn hostage. No one is who he seems to be, and no one is consistent in his actions. Kristopher has only so many pieces to the puzzle, but from this he must draw conclusions and stop the masterpiece that has been set in motion, or he will never make it out alive.

I'm currently revising the third chapter. Of course, I began this the day after I finished the second, but the problem was the fact that I hit my head ice-skating, which induced encephalitis. Writing is never a good activity when your brain is swelling. So blame that for the delay.

The original chapter layout is somewhat different from the one I have now. The first two chapters were originally one chapter but a lot shorter, so I ended up introducing Llewellyn in the forth chapter. However, I'm hoping to go ahead and introduce her in the original layout since some people who have seen the Daily Deviation by *MadMindInc are wondering who exactly she is, along with a few other people. I was wanting to get rid of a lot of wordiness anyway, so it's for the better, I believe. I also want to introduce everyone's favorite evil little dead boy Henry May soon (I, as the creator, have been told that's he's not /really/ evil but just simply... misunderstood, so I'm fixing that).

There isn't much to say about the progress currently, other than I have a few ideas that should make it a lot better. I just had Beth read it over, so I'm feeling better about it now. Blah.

BTW, I'm thinking if Bright Pessimism had a theme song, it would be "Starting Over" by Korn or "dEATH wISH rEVIVAL" by Unfinished Thought. I'm not sure though. Blargendoff.

As always, constructive criticism is always welcome.

Introduction to Bright Pessimism
(from my website)

Bright Pessimism, or BP as it is commonly abbreviated, is a work in progress by me, Cait Shoxxi. The beginning process of writing began on February 5th, 2007. There are two rough drafts of other stories that are based on the same general idea, but neither was continued.

The story really began sometime mid-November of 2006. I was currently working on my other work in progress, Doppelganger, when I began to yearn for the old days, the times I wrote perfectly in my element, which seemed to be suspense/horror. Though I continued writing in my other WIP, I could not stop thinking about this desire of mine. So I started another story, though the main character was a girl. Alexavier (one of the main characters in BP) was the antagonist, but eventually I adopted him into BP.

The new work, despite its success amongst my friends, did not go very far, and I started on another story. I admittedly don't remember much about it, but I began in December. If I am correct I only wrote about two pages when the idea stopped completely. This time around it was a male main character and a female antagonist, which is actually a very recent pattern of mine.

After this rough draft, I scrapped this idea of mine completely and continued to work on Doppelganger. It took me through Christmas and into January, but the ideas for Doppelganger were slowing down quickly. My other idea was coming back to me, but I still had no idea where anything would go.

Then sometime during January I began to roleplay Dungeons and Dragons. I believe this gave me some ideas to go on. I roleplayed as Alexavier, who turned into a magical manwhore (which, ironically, is what he is today). Something about this started my mind up again.

On February 5th, I lay in bed with a migraine. In an odd sense, migraines somehow inspire me with ideas that would have never come otherwise. I closed my eyes and saw in my mind the first chapter of my novel: I saw the main character clearly, and I could see the antagonist as well. In a matter of a few minutes, these two were produced, and I knew them. I knew their names. I knew their behavior. Most of all, I knew what the Hell was going to happen between them.

This was the birth of both Kristopher Amherst and Mistress Llewellyn Rochester.

Of course, some of the ideas of mine evolved into other characters, such as Master Henry May, the evil little dead boy. Again, I had a migraine and I knew Henry in a matter of seconds, including who he was to Llewellyn and how he died. Alexavier came later, but he was the same as my RP character.

Hopefully this has given you some insight of how this WIP has come into being.

To be continued... The bios of the characters
